I have taught classes in computing and programming for many years. As an experienced instructor, I have some ideas about how classes should be conducted and have structured the classes offerings and agendas based on this. Some of my ideas:
Class size should be small, so as to provide for individual questions and attention. All BSC classes (except the Open Session) are limited to an enrollment of 6.
We all have busy schedules. In order to accomodate my clients, classes are set up with two key goals:
I have seen classes taught by local computer stores and they always seem to be held in large rooms filled with PCs. The students are seated in front of a PC that they are not familiar with for the entire class and the students then just "play around" with the PC while a mediocre instructor hovers around.
My classes are primarily lecture classes. You will receive extensive class handouts developed individually for each class. You will have plenty of time to interact and to ask questions. When appropriate, we may get some hands on experience. For example, in the class on digital photo editing, the student will get the opportunity to try some of the techniques.
